FDM Solicitors – Referral Scheme Terms & Conditions

  1. These terms and conditions replace all previous versions related to this scheme.
  2. Subject to full compliance with this agreement, FDM Solicitors may, at its discretion, pay you for referring clients to us.
  3. The referral fee is £350.00, payable only when the case is successfully settled in the client’s favour and the defendants are liable for legal costs of at least £1,000. No fee will be paid if the case is deemed a “small claims” matter i.e damages of £1000.00 or less.
  4. FDM Solicitors is under no obligation to accept a referred case.
  5. We reserve the right to amend the referral fee at our discretion without prior notice.
  6. To qualify, your referred friend or family member must email photographs of the disrepair and contact us directly. By law, we cannot pay a fee if you provide their details to us. The client must inform us of your referral within 14 days of getting in touch.
  7. You must be an individual and an existing client of FDM Solicitors, acting in a personal capacity – not as part of any business or claims management activity. The scheme is strictly for friends and family and must not be promoted to people you do not personally know.
  8. You must not refer clients obtained through advertising or public promotions related to this scheme.
  9. Cold calling or any activity that could put FDM Solicitors in breach of the Solicitors Code of Conduct is strictly prohibited (SRA Code of Conduct).
  10. Our legal advice remains independent and impartial, regardless of your recommendation.
  11. Due to client confidentiality, we cannot provide updates on referred cases.
  12. We will inform clients when a referral fee has been paid to you.
  13. You must disclose to the referred client that you will receive a £350.00 referral fee.
  14. The maximum number of referrals eligible for payment is ten per calendar year.
  15. No part of the referral fee relates to any personal injury aspect of a housing case. If payment of a referral fee is legally prohibited, it will not be made.
  16. We reserve the right to terminate this agreement at any time.
  17. No referral fee will be paid if either the client or FDM Solicitors terminates the retainer before settlement.
